Based in Berlin and Bristol, Ossia, who owns a rare style that crosses industrial and dub, self-released a single for the first time in three years.
The album presents heavyweight versions of tracks released on the now-legendary label Blackest Ever Black and Berceuse Heroique, where Jonquera's new album was also excellent.
The A-side is Manchester's Björk, who also played on the single "Red X" from Blackest Ever Black, "Vertigo" from his first album "Devil's Dance", and Jabu from Bristol. "Red X (Vertigo Version)" with added strings and organ by violinist Rakhi Singh.
B1 dubwise reworked "Information" from the 2016 Berceuse Heroique double-disc set. A dangerous version that pursues a minimalist element with the percussion removed, and echoes are released into the void.
B2 includes a dub version that partially releases the snare of "Drum Tangle" recorded in Noods Radio's 5th anniversary omnibus 12" and shakes the bassline even more.
All are based on Jamaican style dub, further pursuing the original rhythm. It is finished in a powerful version that emits a flash and causes a scorching flame to rise. It is good to play at a loud volume, and it is good not to.
Hand-stamped sleeves screen-printed onto tape strips, with five different hand-stamps, making each record slightly different.
