Reggae producer A. Gussie Clarke, who worked with some of Jamaica's top reggae artists in the 1970s and later opened his own recording studio. In the latter half of the 1980s, he made glamorous recordings that set him apart from other producers, and his productions, which blended the old-school roots reggae with the new trend of digital dancehall riddim at the time, were passed on to later generations. left a big impact on the reggae scene. Augustus "Gussie" Clarke's rise to a worldwide position is a reissue of the original masterpiece compilation by a parade of great Jamaican roots artists of the 70's.
